His accomplice Double D's rumbling machinery, massive production, combined with demonic riffs and acid-drenched vocals are cross-pollinated and a work of perfectly orchestrated evil results from their labor, where the harmonies of Portishead, Eyehategod and Nick Cave are drawn. Basically, if substance abuse, the devil himself and the sound of tectonic plates colliding could form a band, it still wouldn’t come on any slower, deeper, heavier and harder than this.
